Ethics, Boundaries, and Social Work Practice: Exploring The Issues

This workshop explores the various theories and schools of thought regarding boundaries in social work practice. The difference between boundary crossings and boundary violations will be addressed. The many different types of boundary issues will be discussed in terms of context and type of social work practice, with special emphasis on the unique aspects of providing social work services in rural communities. Legal and risk-management aspects of boundary issues will also be discussed. GeriEd Consulting is an approved sponsor of the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners for continuing education credits for licensed social workers in Maryland. GeriEd Consulting maintains responsibility for this program which meets the criteria for 3 credit hours of Category I continuing education for Social Workers and Associates licensed in Maryland.
