Ethics, Boundaries, and Social Work Practice: Exploring The Issues
*Please note: This workshop qualifies for the 3-hours ethics requirement of the MD Board of Social Work Examiners for licensure renewal.
This workshop explores the various theories and schools of thought regarding boundaries in social work practice. The difference between boundary crossings and boundary violations will be addressed. The many different types of boundary issues will be discussed in terms of context and type of social work practice, with special emphasis on the unique aspects of providing social work services in rural communities. Legal and risk-management aspects of boundary issues will also be discussed.
