Early Recognition & Intervention

This workshop will help you to understand, recognize early warning signs, and intervene with older adults experiencing mental health problems. Stressors, situations, & physical health issues contributing to mental health problems in aging adults will be discussed, along with the different categories of mental illness, and which are most likely to affect older adults. Practical strategies for interacting and communicating with older adults that are having mental health issues will be addressed.
GeriEd Consulting is an approved sponsor of the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners for continuing education credits for licensed social workers in Maryland.
GeriEd Consulting Maintains responsibility for this program which meets the criteria for 3 credit hours of Category I continuing education hours for social workers and associates licensed in Maryland.
